AbstractReducing electricity consumption in building can partly contribute in addressing global warming. University Campus building is type of building has to be considered because residents in university, most students will learn low energy building model besides the main purpose in electricity reduction. Rektorat and Engineering Physics (EP) buildings in Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya are used in this study. The main objective is to identify and estimate the possible energy efficiency improvements in a campus building without ignoring human thermal and visual comfort. The present energy Rektorat and EP building are 90 kWh/m2/year and 96 kWh/ m2/year, respectively. The hourly temperature validation in building model has error less than 3% for both building. The lighting simulation shows quite high (7% and 22%) difference in daylighting factor and around 5% error in artificial lighting. Ten scenarios for reducing electricity consumption were estimated in Rektorat building, while nine scenarios for EP buildings. The scenarios consist of building envelope and equipment. Change U value of wall, roof, and window, increase reflective wall’s paint, and add fenestration are considered to reducing electricity consumption through building envelope. Furthermore, used better efficient lamps, move fridge and dispenser, and change high efficiency AC also estimated. The high reduction is replacing high efficiency AC. However, benefit analysis need to analyze before measure.
