Abstract | The upcoming South Blue Line Extension subway project, extended from Lumphini station to Silom station. The subway system in Bangkok and twin-tunnel will be excavated underneath densely populated urban areas and historical areas. One of the seriousness in urban tunnelling is to predict the tunnelling induced surface settlement and the effect on adjacent pile foundation. This study is involved to 3D numerical simulations for analysis of vertically stacked tunnels, South Bound and North Bound tunnels, and tunnel-pile interaction of stacked tunnels in the south contract of Bangkok Blue Line subway project. Firstly, the result of longitudinal and lateral settlement pattern is compared with measured settlement of 3T Lumphini - Silom Line of MRT Blue Line subway project. Secondly, the effect of tunnelling on different types of piles that are common in Bangkok is investigated. The results of simulation of vertically stacked tunnels excavation, the stress release parameter has affect the surface settlement, have to compare with the Measured Data in 3T-Silom Lumphini Station. The analysis of pile - tunnel interaction in each cases can be compared by lateral settlement, longitudinal settlement and axial force on pile |
