Abstract | The demand of petroleum required is extensively increasing to reflect the innovation of transportation and the rapid increase in human population. However, the petroleum resource decreases. The quality of hydrocarbon production will have to concern. The basin modeling analysis is useful for estimate the hydrocarbon potential. PetroMod 1D software is used in the study. The Gulf of Thailand is the large area to produce petroleum. It can produce petroleum such as oil, condensate, and gas. Pattani Basin is the one of efficiency basin in the Gulf of Thailand. There is divided into two parts based on lithology and tectonostratigraphy: the Northern Pattani Basin and the Southern Pattani Basin. The Northern Pattani Basin is considered in this study. There are three basin modeling cases for this study: basin modeling analysis for general Pattani Basin, basin modeling analysis for different study locations, and basin modeling analysis for Jasmine B - 07 well of the Northern Pattani Basin. The first study case is basin modeling analysis for general Pattani Basin. The information of general Pattani Basin is referred to stratigraphy column from Jardine (1997), which it is the previous study of general Pattani Basin. The results show the properties of each parameter such as temperature, porosity, heat flow, thermal conductivity, vitrinite reflectance, and timing for hydrocarbon generation. The hydrocarbon generation was calculated by Schmoker (1994). It was about 2.54 x 1018 bbl for oil generation and 4.7 x 1017 bbl for gas generation. The second case is basin modeling analysis for different study locations. There are five locations in the different trend of tectonic stratigraphy. The information for analysis is assumed based on the general Pattani Basin case. Study location A, B, and D are oil production area. Study location C and E are main gas production area. The third case is basin modeling analysis for the Jasmine B - 07 well based on well logging data. Jasmine B - 07 well is 1701m depth. It is efficiency to production petroleum. The main production for Jasmine B - 07 well is oil. The different kinetic model had effect to the amount of hydrocarbon generation. |
