AbstractThis study report focuses mainly on the safety assessment and rehabilitation of Lam Pao dam as well as practical methodology for the condition assessment of embankment dam. Lampao dam , which being constructed by Royal Irrigation Department (RID) .The dam completed in 1968 that is earth dam made up two section .After operation ,RID found some problems of the dam during operation are a wet layer at the zone of the highest section of the dam also seepage occurred at on the left dam body , the old spillway can not control water supply during rainy season. Then RID made feasibility study about safety assessment of the dam by condition index and risk index. This study presents the details of the phy sical and functional condition of Lam Pao dam,the results of the dam site inspections and document review,the safety analysis of the facility based from available data,as well as the safety condition assessment using the proposed methodology.Also,including rehabilitation of Lam Pao dam. In addition , The summary of safety assessment of Lampao dam, Firstly by Condition Index Method result that rec om m ented should repair Lampao dam and Huai - Yang dam and can repair without move to new area . Also Risk Index meth od result recommented to repair Lampao dam In 2008 , RID was plan and start to rehabilitation the dam body , the old spillway as well as construction new spillway and installation dam instruments.
