Abstract | This study deals with a simple numerical procedure for evaluating behavioral responses of tunnel linings (Circular shape, D-shap e, and Horseshoe shape) during an earthquake. The simulation considered for configura tion of tunnel namely single and twin tunnels. The linear analysis simulation were made u sing ANSYS software, and the nonlinear earthquake behavior of the velocity ground motion t ime histories in horizontal and vertical components of 2014 Mae Lao Earthquake, in Northern Thailand, ground motion were used as the seismic excitation. The modal analyses of the t unnel are performed and natural frequencies and mode shapes are obtained. Both of shallow and d eep depths, the total displacements under dynamic load are increased from static load with pe rcentage of about 4-26 % and 11-27 % of the total displacement of single circular at shallo w depth, respectively, and the principal stresses and shear stress under dynamic load are sl ightly increased from static load. |
