AbstractAfter the 2011 great flood, AIT flood protection dyke rebuilt by raising the height and widen the base in order to prevent AIT from the same magnitude of the flood, in case that the flood reoccur. At that time, the dyke was designed to avoid its normal weaknesses (e.g.underseepage, erosion, piping and so on) including overflow and scouring effect. Unfortunately, the presentincident of the dyke has occurred some cracks, surface erosion, subsidence, and even significant slope movement. The objectives of this study are to investigate the stability of the dyke so that a suitable remedial measures or improvements are identified and implemented, involving inspection the whole length of the dyke to identify problem areas, surveying dyke section, subsoil investigation and testing. The slope stability analysiswill be conducted for comparison of factor of safety between limit equilibrium analysis using SLOPE/Wand finite element analysis using SIGMA/W.
