AbstractLearner awareness is limited compared to vast sourc e of availability of the knowledge when considered in the context of e-learning. Individual ’s quest for knowledge or information constantly facilitates to reach inch closer to the knowledge warehouse. Instead, learners bound to make mistakes due to lack of proper process to f ollow and guidance. In this study, therefore, a polished model was proposed with taking AIT as a case, which could well support the user to overcome some specific problems. A feasibility s tudy carried out by taking the academic report generation processes for AIT student. In the current scenario students are coming across various issues such as; finding proper source, citi ng the sources, motivation towards the work, specifying how much information needed, how much is enough, when to move to the next step, while preparing academic reports, may be its thesis, research or any other work. The Report generation process model proposed would poss ibly differentiate the steps involved in the report generation. Based on those steps users w ere distinguished and provided solution to their specified problems. To follow the report generation process a mechanism was designed for recommending and guiding students to proceed with their individual w ork may well be its thesis, research, special study or project work. The system, based on user pr ofile data and current activity of users could differentiate the stages of the report genera tion process and recommend the user with somebody being working in the same phase or higher stage. Then the users networked with that person and try to find some solution to his pr oblem. The models were then validated and evaluated in terms of efficiency with the help of a survey conducted by selecting a set of users randomly from AIT. The models were found useful by most of the users and they believed that the system could actually help them in solving thei r problems, if implemented. However, the system should not be treated as a replacement or no t a direct solution provider rather just a tool to guide the user how to perform work without much apprehension.
