AbstractMANEMO is the combination of Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) and Network Mobility (NEMO) Basic Support protocol where NEMO provides session connectivity and Tree Discovery Protocol (TOP) with Network In Node Advertisement (NINA) providing the routing information. In this thesis, we aim to study the effect of movement scenarios on the connectivity performance in MANEMO. MANEMO TDPININA protocol is run in several mobile routers with a nested structure. The connectivity performance in various movement scenarios of the mobile network is analyzed against network parameters: packet loss, throughput, control overhead, handover time, and round trip time. Moreover, MANEMO TDPININA protocol is compared with Optimized Link State Routing protocol (OLSR) and the efficiency of both protocols are evaluated by measuring control overhead, packet loss ratio, and call setup time. From the experimental results, we find that the single movement provides better connectivity performance than the multiple movements in both MANEMO and OLSR systems. The comparison between the two protocols shows that OLSR consumes more control overhead than MANEMO TDPININA. However, OLSR provides the smaller number of packet loss and less call setup time than MANEMO TDPININA in every movement scenario. For accuracy and reliability, the equivalent simulations are also performed. The trend of output performance from the simulation results coincide with the real experimental results. As a result, we show that the movement also affects the number of packets loss, control overhead and throughput.
