Abstract | As a technology grows up fast, especially the emergence of HTML5. Its abilities were widely increased and allow a 3D element to easily display on every modern web browser. Additionally, a cartography has recently been used wired space. However, 3 dimensional map still has a limitation and can not completely replace 2 dimensional map due to many reasons. One of the reasons was the most complicatedof movement control while users explore in a 3 dimensional environment. Usually, they always get lost and confusing of the controller. This thesis will be studied and reduce the complexity of exploration in 3D environment based on a case study of AIT. Therefore the AIT 3D map will be developed. The two movement control techniques and supporting toolswill be experimented in order to decrease an inconvenient of exploration. The AIT 3Dscene will be created by using 3DsMax which is a 3D modeling software. Next, the finished models were exported as the object files. After that, they were converted into the javascript files as the 3D contents which is easy to display on a web browser via a combination technology between HTML5 and Three.js.In AIT 3 dimensional scene, mouse and keyboard movement control are the tools which used to control the position of the camera and the viewpoint. By using mouse mode, users are allowed to control many parameters more than using keyboard mode. Mouse control gives user to see the whole scene in other words, the overall image. Besides, it provides quite a lot of freedom in camera transformation. While, using keyboard mode, the camera position was fixed to aposition of character. The viewpoint of user will depends on the position and the viewpoint of the character. Furthermore, the supporting tools also studied. In this thesis called wayfinding support tools. There are 5 wayfinding support tools in this experiment. They are minimap, label, hyperlink button, reset button and textures.A case study of AIT able to open via the latest version of web browsers. The recommended web browser is chrome and Firefox |
