AbstractIn a real world practice, it is difficult to model and analyze the vendor providing FMS configuration with AGV system. This study was conducted in Kasesart University at laboratory of MAZAK FMS system to study and analyze performance evaluation of FMS by modeling the Petri net method using several simulation manufacturing tools i.e. INA and CANQ. The present study describes the existing system of FMS at Kasesart University is being used a model of Petri nets for demonstration by using own process plan and simulate as well as study the system by applying Petri net model. It is observed that Petri net is one of the most powerful tools in investigating the evaluation of performance of FMS. The approach considered here is based on the modeling of FMS as an event graph with part circuits, sequencing circuits, AGV circuits as well as mixed circuits to satisfy the system's constraint of maintain the processing time of control circuit is maximum, to keep the minimal WIP as same as buffer storage space and one transporter available in the system. The model is designed to determine the optimal work in progress (WIP), the number of AGV, the required capacity of given process plan and the variation of arrival order under minimal part set technique in terms of different product mixing
