AbstractThis thesis describes two decision models for a poultry processing factory. The main objective of this study is to manage the supply of raw material, the production and inventory as well as the delivery of product to maximize the profit in the dynamic business environment. The first model is concerned with the supply management and the scope is the production-inventory planning. The second model focuses on the operational issue and the model is a vehicle routing model. The first level model for production-inventory planning model was solved by using the LINGO 8.0. The solution from the first model is the number of birds taken from which suppliers and number of carcasses sold to distributors. These numberswere used as inputs to the Particle Swarm Optimization program to find the optimum routes for vehicle to pick up the raw material and deliver the products.
