Abstract In supply chain management , one of the most critical p rob l em s t hat need to be addressed is the bullwhip effect, the phenomenon in which information of demand is a mplifie d when moving up a supply chain. In this study f or a simple two - stage supply chain with one supplier and one retailer the focus is how to quantify the impact of bullwhip effect . In addition, it is assumed that the retailer employs base stock policy for their inventory and demand forecast is performed through the first - order autoregressive model, AR(1). The effect of autoregressive coefficient and stochastic lead time on this measure will then be investigated.
