Abstract | As manufacturing system gradually extend in size and complexity, the requirement s of operator’s skills and experience increase accordingly. To improve performance of the overall process, operators require more perception in the behavior of the manufacturing system. Accordingly, O perator Training Simulator (OTS) is applied to train operators in manufacturing industry for challenging. Therefore, the objective of t his thesis is to develop a user - friendly tool to support process modeling of OTS system for manufacturing process es . In order to achi eve an objective of this thesis, three main procedures for supporting process modeling are developed as follow s : process flow design, process front panel design, and evaluation algorithm. Firstly, process flow design is developed in order to support user to design flow of the target processes easier and quicker. Wireless concept, five process modules, and drag & drop operation have been developed to support first procedure. When the target processes are modeled, the front panel that is used to interact with user is designed. S econdly, process front panel design is developed to support user to design front panel of the model to identical with the real target processes. The process model of OTS system does not only consist of flow and front panel of the process, but also include the component that is used to assess user operations and display score to user , which is called “evaluation algorithm ”. Lastly, the evaluation algorithm is developed to support user to design criteria evaluation of the designed process. In this study, two experiments h ave been conducted in order to investigate the performance of proposed concepts. The results of all experiments are shown that the proposed concepts and implement ed tool for develop ing a user - friendly process modeling tool of OTS system for manufacturing process es have obtained the desirable and satisfactory outcome. |
