Abstract | Suspension is a part of Hard disk drive (HDD) and significant for Hard disk drive operation such as flying, tracking, head connectivity, and electrical connectivity for read and write signal . The important process of the suspension manufacturing is suspension assembly process. Assembly process is the process to assemble the components of suspension consisted of Tongue Gimbals (TG), Bas e plat e and Load beam strip (LB). This process composes of 3 main machines and 16 operators to work in the process. Nowadays, in this process the machines are automated but we cannot use all the capability of machine s into manufacturing; furthermore, products have many defects from the operators. The concept designs of machine and automation systems are used to eliminate this problem. The simulation models in Arena software are proposed in this paper to simulate the model of a concept design automation line of suspension assembly process. The research found that automation lines of suspension assembly process can be employed 2 operators to work with these processes . This method can reduced 14 operators from suspension a ssembly process. Moreover, from Arena simulation model these concept designs, the result shown that UPH of these processes is 2,531 at the condition of working 21 hours per day; this concept design can be increased production rate about 4.072 percent. |
