AbstractDinh Co Gas Processing Plant (Dinh Co GPP) of PetroVietnam Gas Corporation was built to process all the associated gas from the offshore of Vietnam. It runs continuously 24 hours a day to gain the highest economic profit. There will be a significant loss if the plant is interrupted by any problems. Especially, when the plant has some inlet gas booster compressors in the production line, the probability of interruption will be higher due to unwanted faults. The goal of this master project is to develop appropriate controlling methods in order to reduce the frequency of shutting down of inlet gas booster compressors at Dinh Co GPP. This problem is referred to monitoring and early detection of process changes which make the compressors to be shut down, since then carry out appropriate actions timely to help stabilizing the production line. Firstly, this study uses Pareto analysis to define which faults or problems need to be monitored. Secondly, use the Cause and Effect analysis to find out all the causes and also propose controlling methods to have a well control of compressors. Thirdly, use Pareto analysis again to define the main causes that should be focused more in the control program. Then the related parameters of problems will be defined, and then, control charts will be constructed to help early detect of process changes through monitoring and controlling the operation of inlet gas booster compressors. Some recommendations will be finally derived from the results of the study for all other important equipments at Dinh Co Gas Processing Plant, Vietnam.
