Abstract | Head Stack Assembly (HSA) is the major cost of Hard disk drive. In HSA production, Swage Torque testing is one of the dest ructive processes that can destroy the HSA, so that the Non-Destructive Testin g (NDT) concept for swage torque testing was proposed. NDT HSA swage torque i s mainly relied on vision inspection to measure an alignment of read-write he ad. In fact that lighting and environment are difficult to control in mass produc tion factory and improper control leads to degradation of an output image, so that the robust vision inspection algorithm is required to handle such ima ge degradation. This thesis presents the robust vision inspection a lgorithm that is used to inspect the alignment of read-write head during NDT swage t orque testing process. The key features of an object of interest are examined. In addition, a technique for computing optimal region of interest (ROI), which e nhances performance of the inspection algorithm, is examined. Finally, optimal runtime and development environmen t is selected. The robust vision inspection algorithm, which is relied on the identified key features of the object of interest, is developed to process the deg raded images. The ROI adaptation algorithm is developed to improve perfor mance of the inspection algorithm. |
