Abstract | Printing image on a T - shirt is getting popular since every single customer can have individual personalized image design , even only text on it. There are so many way s to print the image, using special printer, using heat transfer printing and also using flat screen printing. Among of those printing methods, flat screen printing is the most suitable way since it is fast and cheap process comparing with others methods. It is suitable for satisfying customers who need a personalized printing image. In flat screen printing, the most important pro cess is about making the screen . This research is used to determine the best method of making screen s and to develop a n automatic screen making system to produce quality screen s . The result shows that paper stencil method is the most suitable screen making method. An automatic screen making machine has been designed, developed, constructed and tested. The developed machine can produ ce quality screens that can support the Design by Customer concept in T - shirt printing business. Image processing is used for preparing the image before it’s cut on the paper block . Lab VIEW programs and motion control with digital I/O are used to con trol a nd manipulate all the movements and all actuators in the machine . |
