Abstract | This study presents a method to find the optimal maintenance policy for a component having two types of failure modes; random failures and failures due to deterioration. Availability of the component for normal service is the criterion to be optimized. The deterioration is assumed to be occurred in finite discrete steps and Markovian approach is used to model the problem. LINGO software is used to solve the resulting nonlinear program problem and sensitivity analysis is conducted in order to illustrate the behavior of the optimal solution. |
