AbstractThe objective of this study is to develop and improve efficiency of rice dropping machine in paddy field. An automatic rice dropping machine is still slowly operation. It is necessary to improve the seeding rate and working in real paddy field. For previous robot, there are four wheels with vacuum unit for sowing rice seeds. For developing robot, we have to modify from four wheels robot become third wheels robot and move the vacuum unit to working outside robot. This vacuum unit use to pick and place rice seeds to the tray. Only seed tray put on the developing robot. The developing robot is drive by two 500 W DC motors. It can travel automatically in real paddy field. The efficiency of seed sowing is 91% which is increasing from the previous machine for 13%. The seeding rate of improving robot is 1.71 hr/rai(1600 m2). Amount of seeds in case sowing a single seeds is about 1 kg/ rai.
