Abstract | WIP management is yet a problemformany manufacturers, especially in semiconductor sector where the process flow is complex, which still face nowadays. The most difficultproblem is to both achieve output but also meet cycle time goal. This research addresses one case study of Intel Products Vietnam wherein wesuggest solutions forthe problem of WIP management. This research appliesFactory Physics principles and utilizes Littleās Law to work out the solution for WIP management. We firstlydesign the WIP allocation accross the production line which can reflect most accurately the processing time and variability so that there is no gap observed between calculation and practices. The second main issue is the material kitting control. This is done by using the WIP allocation in the first solution and applying CONWIP strategy to manage the kitting. |
