AbstractRapid prototyping is one of techniques that has been used to reduce development time of product. New RP techniques have been developed in both manufactures and research institutes. At AIT, a sheet-based RP technique has been developed to fabricate a functional prototype. In order to make RP technique more robust, the existing sheet-based RP has been analyzed to identify issues for improving the process. Process has been redesign and the new machine has been reconstructed to improve this RP technique. Hot air is used to reduce time to prepare sheets and pneumatic technology is applied in material handling unit. Control system has been developed to make the RP machine run automatically.
