AbstractWind energy is one of the various renewable energies that can be adopted to alleviate the impacts of global warming. Due to a continuous energy demand, wind energy is becoming more popular. Globally, India ranks higher in the wind power generation. This study depicts all the socioeconomic and environmental issues in the selected study areas, along with some suggested mitigations. The RS&GIS software is also used to identify the environmental issues in the selected study areas. The changes were represented for two years (i.e. 2013 and 2015). The socioeconomic and environmental issues in the wind farm were identified by conducting questionnaire survey. This study also gives all the technology changes from 1985 to 2015. It also estimates the future technology changes from 2015 to 2020. In terms of the wind power polices, all the policy driver were also suggested to increase the wind power in India. The challenges faced by the wind farms were also given proper mitigations.
