Abstract | Diagnosis is the identification of a problem after observing its symptoms. A number of different means could be used to diagnose and determine the prob lems that may arise as well as the preventive measures to be implemented and how to choose appropriate remedial actions. Excessive water production an d declined System flowing pressure are synonymous with matured oil wells. As the hydrocarbon is produced the reservoir pressure decline over time, consequently the we lls need to be assisted with extra means to optimize production. The logic is to obtain high production rate of the oil well by increasing production pressure drawdown this is done by reducing the bottom-hole pressure with artifici al lift. The rate-pressure relationship of an oil well is used for investigating the need to intr oduce artificial lift, selecting the most suitable lift system, and determining its size a nd capacity. The system selec tion for optimum performance needs a very careful evaluation of the current as well as future wellbore and reservoir condition. Due to quite a number of possible co mbinations of oil well behavior, a lot of factors affect the decision on artificial lif t selection and the expected performance. In this study, a proper design has been made , all oil well behaviour and characteristics as well as system components have been we ll studied and put into consideration, a well thought out contingency plans has been put in place to cater for changing oil well conditions over time. The major works done in this study include s but not limited to; An analytical review of MR-20 oil well Identification of the well anomalies Remedial actions to put the well back on optimized production. |
