Abstract | This study mainly focuses on a development of the two dimensional horizonta l subsea jumper design guid eline in deepwater environment. The subsea jumper is floated over the seabed, and connected to the other subsea components, which has 1.5 meters of end expansion from pipeline. Thus, the end expansion of pipeline must be taken in to account. The subsea jumper that considers in this study is 60 meters long. Four size of outside diameters i.e. 8 , 10, 12 and 14 - inch and three shapes of subsea jumpers i.e. L - , Z - and Ω - shaped are considered. The depth of water is varying from 1,000 meters through 2,500 meters. To ensure the strength and the stability, subsea jumper s were performed the in - pla ce analysis and Finite Element A nalysis (FEA) because subsea jumpers in deepwater can b e collapse, buckling or bursting due to the excessive pressure, or failure due to vortex - induced vibration from current. The ABAQUS software was used to simulate the subsea jum per for Finite Element Analysis, and then performed the local buckling – loading combined criteria to do the unity check for FEA results. The preliminary design charts we re introduced to develop the design procedure. This preliminary design charts can be minimizing of time for subsea jumper design. |
