AbstractThe intended purpose of the study is to plan an onshore decommissioning facilities layout for wellhead platform (WHP) installed in GOT. The details of results include a schedule and yard layout which were carried out by using queuing simulation model via GPSS world program. The major inputs of simulation were mainly focused on arrivals rate, service distributions of the main activities. All of the inputs were applied to study three cases of number of WHPs arrival at the yard. As the results of simulation models, they were investigated and validated the effect of inputs variables on outputs through sensitivity analysis. The results indicated that there w ere not significant effects on the outputs between different distributions. Consequently, the results were used to ca lculate the duration time of the activities among the process workflow as well as design of facilities with size of onshore facilities yard layout. However, although the validation of simulation models showed the small changes on the values of deviation, there could be better if there would be able to obtain the certain data to be analyzed to get the accurate results applying in the decommissioning plan.
