AbstractFault crossing is major factor to damage the exposed pipeline on the seabed in seismic area. The selection of route line to avoid fault crossing area is considered. Mitigation measures are considered when the pipeline route must to lay on the fault crossing area. The pipelines are analyzed by Ultimate and Fatigue limit state to check the failure of pipeline. The Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is applied to analyzes the pipeline. The pipeline models are simulated by the ABAQUS program and the analysis was separated into two section. First is the original pipeline without mitigation measure. Second is the pipeline with mitigation measure. This study presents three mitigation measure (i) Increased thickness (ii) Attached buoyancy modulus (iii) Pre-trench the seabed. The most effective mitigation measure is pre-trench. Pre-trench method can reduce the unity of load and displacement control in case of after movement. This method is disadvantage in case of fault movement is not occur.
