Abstract | Recently in Gulf of Thailand, some of offshore installations are in decommissioning stage, more and more platforms will be decommissioned in very near future due to the end of field life and regulations of Thailand. As more platforms are going to be decommissioned together with attempt to develop marginal field in Gulf of Thailand, have caused a re - e xamination of reusing opportunities of offshore platforms. Reusing offshore platform to develop marginal field, can solve several related problem for example, it adds benefit to non - profit activities of decommissioning, and it increases economical of margi nal field development. However, reused platform normally be lower performance or lower usability when comparing to a new fabrication platform. So generally the decision making on reusing platform will be trade - off between how much benefits will be gain ed f rom reused platform and how much performance or usability of reused platform will be. This Thesis will answer one of the two essential questions for decision making regarding to reusing offshore platform in Gulf of Thailand, which is how much benefits will be gained from reusing platform project. The thesis will focus on 4 - leg wellhead platform only due to it is mostly type of platform in Gulf of Thailand, and will focus structural of topside and jacket only due to available of input data. In this thesis, r eusing wellhead platform is divided into 10 options, then evaluate cost and time for each option by using probabilistic estimation approach. Hence, the decision maker can use probabilistic results from thesis to set up their schedule and budget of reusing wellhead platform project at any percent confident they want. Moreover, sensitivity analysis is performed to determine the p rocess priority of each option, then decision maker can use it to determine what process should be focus on , and take more effort to monitor and control in order to manage schedule and/or budget of the project . The results are drawn from probabilistic estimation and sensitivity analysis then discussions and conclusions of each option are presented. |
