AbstractFind out the optimum thickness of chips of Acacia crassicarpa to achieve optimum production and quality of the resulted pulp and pap er and comparing these results for two different types of acacia ( Acacia crassicarpa and Acacia mangium ) were the main objective of this study. Those thicknesses were 60/ 40, 80/20, 100/0, 2 mm, 5 mm and 9 mm. Increasing kappa number reduced residual alkali and final yield and increased % screen reject for both Acacia crassicarpa and Acacia mangium. Reducing kappa number after O2 delignification redu ced viscosity and increased brightness. Highest final brightness for Acacia crassicarpa are achieved 90.26 by using 5 mm thickness chip and highest final brightness of Acacia mangium are 90.03 using 100/0
