Abstract | CBFM was applied in 2007 to improve the effects of forest management, protection and development forest resources, and for improving the benefits from CF to villagers in Thuong Quang commune. This research paid the most attention on analyzing how CBFM impact on ethnic minority community (Co Tu community) and Vietnamese community (Kinh community) through selective economic indicators. Firstly, this research analysis the changes in allocated land inside CF and amount of crops produced on this land area, amount of natural timber, NTFPs and wildlife collection from forest both before and after applying CBFM, and between Co Tu households and Kinh Households. Secondly, this research analysis the change in annual average amount of income gained from CF before and after applying CBFM, and comparing between Co Tu Households and Kinh households. The findings of this research indicate that Kinh households based up on the blood and power relationship with officials to get more benefits from CF than Co Tu households after applying CBFM. Moreover, Kinh households also gained significantly higher income from CF than Co Tu households after applying CBFM, because Kinh households have better production capacity as well as have more advantages for cultivation on the allocated land and collection forest products inside CF than Co Tu households. Besides, the research findings also illustrated that the income from forest of Co Tu households reduced since they participated into CBFM, while Kinh households’ one increased. |
