Main findings of this research showed that many young women participated in several vocational training programs on dressmaking organized by KMSS - Loikaw which economic benefit was their main motivated factors. Some women were successful in establishing their business operation and some were not due to several factors. The women who had achi evements in their business operation were those who had high economic status and adequate occupational knowledge and skills in dressmaking, received equipment assistance and initial capital support from KMSS - Loikaw. These women had several positive impacts on them in the changes of primary occupation, employment status, and household income particularly from the dressmaking. The determinants of the dressmaking income based on this research were the shop - owner, equipment assistance and amount of financial su pport from family. There are rooms for improvements to enhance more benefits to young women particularly those from discontinuation of dressmaking after training and continuation of dressmaking after training and quit later on who were from poor economic s tatus and had low occupational knowledge and skills and lacked of financial resource to establish their business operation. Certain recommendations were given in this research in order to strengthen the occupational development program of dressmaking for y oung women in rural Myanmar.
