Abstract | This study focus on analyzing the irrigation water requirement of paddy crop in dry season of Suphanburi province Thailand. Area under paddy cultivation has been determined using Landsat 7 and 8 images by applying data classification technique . Amount of water required for paddy fields depends on the evaporation so the amount of potential evaporation can be estimate by using the satellite temperature and land surface emissivity . So the Potential evaporation and crop coefficient of paddy is used for estimating crop water requirement . Effective rainfall and crop water requirement are used for determining irrigation water requirement. By assuming the losses, net irrigation water requirement is estimated. Multiplying the paddy cropped area and net irrigation water requirement the volume of water required for paddy during dry season can be estimated. By using the NDVI to identify the areas of non - irrigated lands to change as the irrigation lands and to estimate the amount of water requires to that lands through this to generate the productivity of paddy through the identification of suitable non irrigated lands. |
