AbstractThis research is an advanced study that adding a new technique of mapping from a project implemented by AIAT Yogyakarta in collaboration with Sleman Agricultural and Forestry Office in the year 2009. Seven districts in Sleman Regency, Indonesia as the study area. Some improvement including interpolation technique were conducted in this study. The Ordinary Kriging, IDW (Inverse Distance Weighting) and Spline interpolation technique were performed and compared, the result is that ordinary kriging is the best fit technique to build Soil Organic Matter map. Multi-temporal spatial data also used in this work. MODIS EVI data were chosen because of several advantages, such as bigger chance to get an image which is no cloud coverage. At first stage, the correlation between SOC (Soil Organic Carbon) value and EVI value on 2009 was examined. The result was relatively high. Using Pearson’s correlation, its correlation is 0.649. The multiple regression modeling was performed to build a model of SOC estimation. The SOC estimation conducted both on pre-and post-fertilization (2009 and 2010). That two maps to be an input of image differencing technique in change detection analysis of pre-and post-fertilization. The result of change detection analysis was overlayed with the result of an interview with the local farmer in Sleman Regency. A Fertilization Effectivity map also generated in this work. This study concludes that remotely sensed data is very useful to identify the change of plant in the paddy fields. This change could be very useful to make some investigation regarding farming system in that area
