AbstractThe purpose of this study is to integrate GPS, GIS & remote sensing technology for making landslide risk zonation map. A field survey is made with Global positioning system (GPS) to locate the position of landslides in the study area. From the coordinates obtained from GPS, a landslide hazard model is prepared for the study area. Different factors like slope, aspect, geology, drainage, roads and railways, lineaments, soil texture, land cover, rainfall have been considered for the occurrence of landslides. By using GIS & Remote Sensing Technology landslide occurrences on all these factors using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) have been analyzed. The vector based GIS has been used for digitizing to produce thematic maps, as analysis for study was based on the pixel based information therefore raster based GIS has been used for analysis. The contour map has been scanned, edited and elevation values are given to it to generate Digital Terrain Model (DTM) from it. Aspect, elevation and slope maps have been obtained from DTM. Land cover map has been produced from the Landsat 8 OLI data. Ranking based calculation was made using the AHP model. By ranking method ranks are given to the criteria by expert analysis and matrix analysis was performed to produce a landslide hazard model. The Landslide hazard model is evaluated to the land use land cover maps previous years to observe the change trends and take necessary steps to reduce the future risk.
