AbstractUrban transportation system contributes not only to a city‟s economic growth but also to the resource consumption and pollution. Nowadays, it is underdeveloped and faced serious problems in developing cities. Hence, this research is investigated the awareness in urban transportation sustainability with government, academic and general people sectors In this research, all sectors were more awareness in environment because transport sector is one main contributor of corbon dioxide gases. They are more emphasized in air pollution, climate change and land consumption in environmental criteria. All sectors were more awareness in increased safety and security of social criteria. Thus, they want to reduce road casualties and physical damage through traffic accidents. In economy, all sectors were more awareness in it, especially government sector as economic growth of one country is very relation with travel time of people and freight transport. Increasing of traffic congestion should be reduced in capital cities as modest improvements in traffic congestion may be the country pulls out of its economic downturn. Therefore, they desire to improve transport accessibility This research gave a view to urban planners the status of urban transportation system sustainability so that they can have right decision making in the future.
