Abstract | Internal structure plays an important role in the transmission of loads within an asphalt mixture. Influence of internal structure on the performance and compaction characteristics of asphalt mixture is anticipated. Image analysis is selected in this study to investigate and analyze the internal structure and other aggregate aspects related to the hot mix asphalt behavior. Performance indicators e.g. ISI, TDI, CDI, TSR, resilient modulus and ITS are evaluated in this study. An aggregates structural index (ASI) representing the influence of internal structure on the behavior of HMA mixture is proposed base on the image analysis. |
