| Abstract | This study focuses on evaluation of technical efficiency. Sample of farmers in four tank irrigation schemes in northeast Thailand located on Roi Et and Maha Sarakham province. Four irrigation scheme consist of Nong Ya Ma, Huai Kut Kaen, Nong Kae Dam and Nong Kra Thum which operated by Royal Irrigation Department (RID).Technical efficiency of farmers evaluated by using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model, primary data were collected through questionnaireby a hundred of farmers in the sites. DEA model analyzed 10 inputs of rice production process based on farmers’ practice, inputs use including irrigation water supplied, seeds,fertilizers, labor, pesticides, and machinery with the single output of riceyield. The evaluation indicates that technical efficiency scores of farmers practice in both seasons are reduced around 0.01 when included the experiments data. For wet season, representing 17 inefficient farmers, the range of efficiency scores is 0.86 to 1. In dry season, 22 inefficient farmers were found with variation of efficiency from 0.81 to 1. To improve efficiency of production, knowledge and suggestion of appropriate farming practices.Also, Strong farmers’ cooperation and correspondence are very importantto achieve the purpose. |
