Series Statement
AbstractSolar Energy is using sunlight to produce electricity, to heat water and for other domestic and commercial uses. The project also focuses on the uses of solar energy and enlightens various applications of solar energy, which actually helps in reducing the discharge of dangerous gases like carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide. These emissions of harmful gases contribute to global warming which is a major threat to the entire world. The project majorly focuses on the solar energy applications and plants in India, but also gives an overview of the scenario of solar energy used in other parts of the world. Solar Energy helps the economy of the country indirectly as in the long run it reduces the opportunity cost of the fossil fuels and prevents them from depletion. With the fossil fuel prices soaring high in the world market, it is very necessary for the people to realize the importance of alternative source of energy even though the cost of solar energy is a little high than fossil fuels. In the long run, after depletion of fossil fuels the world has to turn up to alternative sources, so it's better to adapt to them early to achieve economies of scale to lower down their prices. The cost of setting up a solar power plant is very costly, but the Government provides subsidies and incentives which bring down the cost considerably. The project also covers the financials of setting up a solar photovoltaic plant in detail. The upcoming technologies that are being developed will help the industry to achieve economies of scale. The location of the plant is being studied deeply after studying various locations in India, and Rajasthan being the state which receives maximum amount of solar energy in the year is being chosen as the perfect location for the plant. Solar Energy is available in abundance everywhere, but other renewable energies like wind and hydro are available only in limited number of places, which makes solar energy as the most important alternative for fossil fuels. The project aims at environmentally sustaining power generation and to ensure maximum balance and stability on earth in respect to power generation. If it is efficiently used, it will reduce the dependence on non-renewable sources of energy and make environment cleaner.
