Series Statement
AbstractThe F1 field has been producing and keep declining now, to maintain the gas production as commitment with buyers F2 field was put on production recently, however, after production reservoir pressure in F2 field will be declined also and hardly to achieve the production as demand then production optimization become a must to maintain a high production rate. However maintaining high production rate means water breakthrough happens earlier. In order to understand of water break through time and philosophy, the understanding of water coning is important and helps to optimize production and recovery factor also. All the available critical rate correlations have been reviewed and analytical calculation for critical rate was performed to input into numerical calculation (dynamic model) as the flow rate control to prevent the early water breakthrough. The numerical calculation used the reservoir coupling to perform the sensitivity check for surface water handling capacity and to identify the optimum production profile. Finally the economic evaluation was used to identify the optimum profile or in the other meaning highest NPV. The selected profile will be supported by both numerical calculation results and economic evaluation results. This study shows the utility reservoir coupling, a module of Eclipse, for production optimization with consideration of flow rate restriction due to coning
