| Abstract | The Vietnamese stock market launched since 2000. It growth rate is quite large during the recent 3-year period 2005-2007. The downfall during current year 2008 to prove one thing that is the high expected return and high risk business once conducting the financial investment activities. In term of corporate governance, the financial investment operation was quite existed to the Vietnamese companies during that mentioned period. Such investment wave was spreading widely for private and public, non-listed and listed companies. Assessment on such trend is not yet fully reported, mostly due to lack of financial data transparency. The research manages to collect and analysis the amount of public data for group of listed companies in HCMC stock exchange for past 5 years. The focus is on the session of financial accounting to record the investment activities, as of accounting figures. Result highlights several interesting factors. That is the source of additional paid-in capital being used to fund such investment activities. That is the categorized on investment’s risk aversion accompany with different pattern on shareholder’s structure. There is also the question put over the individual investor, who poured down the most paid-in capital into the company, and being loosed assessment over that company’s investment business. Resulted of research, recommendations has been noted in enhancing the national financial accounting standards, bank’s interest mechanism, and the financial knowledge awareness for local investors. |
