AbstractStrategic Consultancy Company Limited (SCC) and AB Consultants (ABC) are consulting firms working in development sector. SCC is a local firm based in Hanoi - Viet Nam and ABC is a Danish company based in Copenhagen. The two consulting firms are having the same market in development projects in Viet Nam with the expectation of expansion into the Southeast Asian Region. The partnership between two firms is a potential that with mutual understanding leads to the idea of formation of a Joint Venture (JV) based in Viet Nam. Due to the competitiveness of the market, the firms are getting prepared for a long term partnership in order to be stronger in the industry, larger networks of consultants, clients, donors and more competitive in tender costing. The study aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of two firms together with the opportunities and threats the JV might face to analyze the potential joint ventures of the firms. Based on the findings through direct opinions of the company owners, the profile and strategy of the companies, the market survey and analysis it is recommended that the partners should maintain the relationship and conduct business, know-how transfer, cooperation on a case by case basis.
