AbstractCurrently IT Department of Ford Motor Company in Asia Pacific is constrained in delivering its IT projects by 32% due to limited number of Project Managers available to manage the ongoing projects. With the expected increase in the business growth in the region there will be increased pressure to deliver more projects year on year basis with the same number of headcounts. This report is focused on analyzing if Ford Motor Company Asia Pacific IT could use outsource of its IT Project Management to overcome some of the current limitations and use this as a pilot model to develop a frame work for effectively managing outsourcing of IT work in future. The report is intended to analyze various options currently available for IT department to overcome the limitations currently being faced. The analysis includes understanding the various options in details including the limitations of each, qualitative comparison of each option with respect to three factors Strategic Intent, Cost and Others. At the end of the analysis there is a recommendation on how the strategy could be implemented effectively however they are high level recommendation and actual implementation plan is not part of the study.
