Abstract | At the core of excellence in operations, manufacturing and services, resides Quality. Quality acts as a key reliable differentiator for organizations on the path of Sustainable Growth. Quality manifests itself in the reliability of the processes. The application of Six Sigma approach enhances manufacturing and services in forward looking Organizations. Nowadays, Six Sigma methodology and approach becomes the essential tool to drive the organizations to success in the competitive world. Essilor Manufacturing (Thailand) Company Limited has strived towards the next stages of its sustainable growth through Six Sigma methodology, since 2003. After 4 years of Six Sigma implementation, Essilor Manufacturing (Thailand) Company Limited learns about success and failure of the conventional Six Sigma deployment. At the end of 2006, the top management decided to revitalize the Six Sigma program to be the new version, titled the Breakthrough Six Sigma, and use it as the key methodology for the continuous improvement strategy throughout the organization. The author, who joined Essilor Manufacturing (Thailand) Company Limited since January 2007, has been assigned to execute this important turnaround strategy.
