Abstract | Strategic development is a concept involves consistent visions and commitments of the leaders of an organization. Those factors play a critical role to its success, no matter of what size or in which industry. To develop a strategy, it is first needed to collect all available data, fact-findings, and ideas of involved parties. Managers will then ponder carefully on all the information before coming up with final decisions, taking into account all aspects of the business. Usually, a company’s strategies emphasize on developing its current businesses, but in some cases, they involve expanding or switching into totally new business domains or making innovative products. Those undertakings consume much time and efforts, and statistically proved to be often under-valued. Nevertheless, they are inevitable and have to be carried out, due to the ever-increasing competitive business environment. The question remains at how to implement successful strategies to achieve the best results with minimized costs and avoid heavy impacts if the implementation proves to be unsuccessful. To illustrate the concept, this study analyzes the case of the Embedded System Division of Global CyberSoft (VN) JSC, which made a strategy to penetrate into a new industry through a partnership with eVent Medical, Inc (USA). Keywords: Business strategy, strategic management, growth strategy cultural differences, software outsourcing, business model, cooperation model, risk management, risk mitigation plan. |
