Abstract | Developing super-hydrophobic cotton fabric with antibacterial properties to eliminate odor from sweat and render them, the presented proposal is a study to know the combined effect of ZnO and Ag nano composite on the Hydrophobic and antibacterial properties of cotton fabric. The base cotton substrate (100%) will be treated to develop ZnO nanorod. Subsequently silver Nano particles will be deposited to ZnO nanorod surfaces. ZnO nanorod will be grown on the base 100% industrial cotton fabric, by well established methods tested and confirmed in various work. The fabric will be tested for its hydrophobicity and antibacterial potential after each step of nano particles deposited on fabric. The durability of fabric, especially with washing is important for its real life application. Tensile, Abrasion tests and retention of nano particles after washing will be evaluated. |
