Abstract | Human resource management is one of common and interesting topic that attracts many academic researchers. The overarching objective of the study is to provide a model that helps the managers at Nihon Canpack Co. Ltd to identify which factors may take their impacts to employee‟s performance and appraisals. To do that, I took into consideration of 5 aspects of performance management and appraisals, including appraisal characteristics, perceived fairness, motivation to improve performance, perceived accuracy, and appraisal satisfaction and they are all well representative for the action. Then, the study comes with 7 research hypotheses and they stand for the relationships between pair of factors, including (1) appraisal characteristics and perceived fairness, (2) appraisal characteristics and perceived accuracy, (3) perceived accuracy and perceived fairness, (4) perceived accuracy and motivation to improve performances, (5) perceived accuracy and appraisal satisfaction, (6) perceived fairness and motivation to improve performances, and (7) perceived fairness and appraisal satisfaction. Using quantitative research method with data collected from survey of questionnaire with 100 employees of Nihon Canpack Co. Ltd. It is identified that only the relationship between perceived fairness and appraisal satisfaction is statistical significant at 5% of confidence interval. Other relationships are not statistical significant although the estimation of unstandardized coefficients are positive. Then, several recommendations to be made in order to enhance application of performance management and appraisal in Nihon Canpack Vietnam Co. Ltd. |
