| Abstract | In an effort to implement international management system for business activities of Vietsovpetro to meet the requirements of customer and stakeholders for reducing production cost and gaining the trust of customers, Vietnamese – Russian Joint Venture Vietsovpetro (Vietsovpetro) - a division of PetroVietnam - who has been specialized in oil and gas exploration and production, plans to expand its areas of activities to other sites and oversea, and to provide technical services to other oil and gas companies who are operating in Vietnam and the South East Asia region.
In this research, the author – as a deputy of manager HSE department of Vietsovpetro, aims to develop a process for implementing international occupational health and safety management system in Vietsovpetro which helps for improving occupational health and safety status and the truth of interested parties in the changing strategy of Vietsovpetro.
The research has applied reccognized analysis methods, including: GAP, SWOT to analyze Vietsovpetro’s business internal and external factors and safety management system. This analysis will support Vietsovpetro to recognize the opportunities/ threats and the strengths/weakness of Vietsovpetro in regards of changing strategy and to apply international occupational health and safety management system in its activities as well as to determine the process of its implementation.
The author has conducted a questionnaire survey with divisions, which have successfully applied OHSAS 18001:2007 standard, to identify the specific ways of implementing OHSAS 18001:2007 standard. Based on the outcomes of analyses and surveys, the research will be concluded with recommendations for applying OHSAS 18001:2007 standard in divisions of Vietsovpetro for the purpose of successful change in Vietsovpetro’s strategy. |
