Abstract | Construction activities can be divided into two board categories. Construction Contract Administration (CCA) include activities related to administering the contract for construction, typically perform by A/E. Construction project management include activities related to managing the construction process, typically perform by the contractor. CCA is a combination of contractual procedures and the implementation of the team approach for the participants in the project. Thayet-Minhla road upgrading project is one of the ongoing JICA-ODA loan projects for regional development under poverty reduction program in Magway Region, Myanmar. Ministry of Construction (MOC) organized as Project Management Unit (PMU) that will be responsible for monitoring and the day-to- day management of the project. Consultant firm was selected by JICA and their responsibilities are to be monitor and inspect the project successfully. Consultant firm follow the guideline of Japanese ODA loans and feed back the inspection report to JICA head office. In this case study, we can be learn about the practice of owner, contractor and consultant which are related with the contract administration activities such as progress, payment, delay, change order, meeting, reporting and so on. Each participants involve in the construction need to be familiar with the contract document and understanding the project delivery method used in the construction are very important for successful completion of the project. So, successful contract administration is needed to be completed safely, on schedule, within the budget, meeting designed specification and with no disputes. |
