Abstract | Software industry for healthcare has seen significant growth in the past decade and is expected to continue growing. Changes in demographics and culture, coupled with complexity in modern medicine are driving factors for development and adoption of more sophisticated and integrated healthcare software solutions to ensure better quality of care, improved patient outcomes, better information at the point of care; and accessible, affordable, and responsive patient care. Solution providers like InterSystems stand to benefit from increase in demand for healthcare IT solutions. Although InterSystems Thailand (ISCT) actively pursued opportunities and submitted proposals, it has not been able to win new accounts. The lack of new business threatens InterSystems‟ ability to continue its business in Thailand. This paper aims to examine two possible contributing factors to ISCT‟s failure to win business which are (1) TrakCare software pricing and licensing model and (2) gaps in expectations between potential customers‟ and InterSystems‟ role in successfully implementing TrakCare. In addition, the paper also explores Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) themes aimed at helping InterSystems to further capitalize on opportunities and create a competitive advantage. |
