| Abstract | IMT Solutions, hereafter called IMT, is a start-up software company in Vietnam. The
company was co-founded by a group of young Vietnamese entrepreneurs, who have
been working in the IT industry for over 12 years. IMT provides the wide range of IT
services and products across different industries. The company focuses on cost effective
and high quality solutions that can build, manage and support clients' IT systems across
the entire value chain - infrastructure, applications and business processes.
This research proposes the solution for business development plan of IMT. The research
conducts a SWOT analysis and proposes several strategic alternatives for IMT. The
final solution is selected to take advantages of opportunities, leverage core team
competencies. In order to help IMT to enter the market, the research proposes a strategy
relied on a combination of being low cost and differentiation. IMT builds its
differentiation through a core technology competence development process, which
leverages the experience of the core team while taking advantages of the new
technologies. The solution proposes using capability in new smart-phone platforms as
the key technical differentiation. In order to grow the business, the solution suggests the
“one-stop-shop” strategy, which applies the economy of scope strategy in a selective
way to achieve competitiveness. The research also highlights key points of the
marketing plan, risk management and exit strategy taking into account lessons learnt
from leading successful companies |
