AbstractSince the renovation process spreading out in Vietnam during the 1990s, there has been a booming in the establishment of new business companies of all kinds from state-owned, private to joint-venture and foreign direct investment ones. The great ambition of Vietnam government is to create about 500,000 companies in Vietnam by the end of 2010, of which 97% are small and medium companies. This ambitious target is soon to be proved achievable through a current statistics issued by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). During the development process of ten or fifteen years, many small and medium companies have been struggled all their best to reach to the top and become leading forces within their business fields. However, for many successful small and medium companies, their management capabilities and development models seem always fall behind the growth of revenue, human resources and company size. It seems that without any innovation and/or alteration in their business processes and management model, these companies have reached their mountain peak and the next step will be going down the slope to lost control and degradation. The case can be applied to the situation of Thanh An – Hanoi Co., Ltd. Being established almost ten years ago and it now gains a major market share in the area of high technology medical equipments and supplies. The company needs a total business process reengineering to set the new height instead of staying on its mountain peak and going down. Therefore, this company project presents the analysis of the company’s current business processes and how they are reengineered to keep up with the current development as well as to cope effectively with the increasing competition in the market. To support and provide guidelines for the business process reengineering at Thanh An – Hanoi Co., Ltd, a series of theories and literatures regarding business process and reengineering have been researched and brought into the project.
